PUBLIC NOTICE - Thargomindah Town Water Supply

Back

Council undertake regular water quality monitoring of the Thargomindah Town Water Supply to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community.

The most recent sampling which occurred on Wednesday, 1 November 2023, returned a negative result against all reporting criteria.

A most probable causes of the presence of any foreign substance that occasionally occurs in tap water could be from:

  • The natural presence of sulphur in our water supply
  • The mains flushing program, which may have cause shedding of residue from the internal pipework
  • Current high water demands, due to the weather becoming hotter and dryer, can also cause shedding within the pipework

A safe supply of drinking water is fundamental to public health and Council assure residents that all complaints are taken seriously.

Individual sampling is available upon request for any resident that has a concern about the quality of water at their residence.
